In a nutshell (by Polarstar Rodd Rambo) ;
The FE is capable of a higher max velocity than the F2. FE is ~550fps w/ .2g (red nozzle/black poppet), F2 is ~500fps w/ .2g. This is with a 6.05x380mm. The F2 has the equvalient of a red nozzle with a red low flow poppet though so that reduces flow. We do plan on releasing a gold and black poppet for the F2 as well so with the black poppet it should be close to the FE in terms of maximum velocity.
The F2 is a little more air efficient than a FE in the same configuration. At 1.5J w/ .28g (same barrel as above) the F2 gets ~900 to 1,000 shots. A FE with the red poppet shimmed to that barrel volume gets ~700 to 800 shots.
With the F2 you can actually adjust air volume with your poppet dwell since it doesn't dump as much air volume as the FE and the poppet responds faster. With the FE you need to physically shim the poppet valve to shorten the stroke while the F2 you can just adjust your poppet dwell in the FCU. So, it is a little easier to optimize it for efficiency.
With the FE you do get a complete drop-in assembly which is easier to maintain than the F2 in the gearbox shell. You also get a more precise trigger switch with the FE since we're using a CNC chassis instead of accounting for the varying tolerances of AEG gearboxes. So, the trigger is "clicky" with a distinct break and reset that you can't get with the F2 trigger.
On the flip-side though, the Fusion Engine may require a bit more work when installing for proper alignment/interaction with the rifle body since not all rifle bodies hold the same tolerances. With the F2 you are using the original shell so they should align correctly.
